Peixe em Lisboa - Lisbon Fish and Flavours

61
15 euros

The flavours of the sea return to Pavilhão Carlos Lopes for the 12th “Peixe em Lisboa” festival.

This has become one of the city’s iconic events, focusing on Portuguese fish and seafood, products of excellence.

The programme has three sections: talks by famous Portuguese and international chefs; the presence - throughout the event - of some of the best restaurants in Lisboa, offering a range of fish and seafood dishes; and a gourmet market with dozens of exhibitors from the food sector.

In 2019, the commitment to bring famous international chefs is strengthened, with the attendance of Belgian chef Gert De Mangeleer, Marco Stabile from Italy, Michel Van der Kroft from the Netherlands, Russia’s Evgeny Vikentev; and Oriol Castro from neighbouring Spain.

However, there is no shortage of Portuguese chefs, with presentations from some who won Michelin stars in the latest guide: Henrique Sá Pessoa, from Alma in Lisboa; Pedro Almeida, from Midori in Sintra; António Loureiro, from A Cozinha in Guimarães; Louis Anjos, from Bon Bon in the Algarve; and Alexandre Silva.

As for restaurants, these will include Marlene Vieira, by the chef with the same name; Monte Mar and its chef Nuno Rebelo; Porto de Santa Maria and Miguel Laffan; Taberna Macau and its chef André Magalhães; Tágide and Gonçalo Costa; Arola, in the Hotel Penha Longa; Casa do Bacalhau and its chef João Bandeira; Ibo and João Pedrosa; Kanazawa and Paulo Morais; and the Ritz Four Seasons and Pascal Maynard.

Monday, 8th April is Fish in Lisboa’s “Cut-price Day”, when the 15-euro entry charge per person includes the right to 10 euros worth of food in the restaurants for the whole day.

Between midday and 3pm, Monday to Friday, the entrance fee includes a right to two tastings worth 5 euros.
